Dell invests into CHOC
In partnership with Discovery Health, Dell invested in eight desktops which will be used for CHOC’s (Children’s Hematology Oncology Clinics) ReMission project.
Dell has also provided an additional eight desktops, which will be allocated to each of the Choc Houses across South Africa.
According to Stewart van Graan, managing director of Dell South Africa and general manager of Dell Africa, “Dell is committed to creating healthier communities and it is rewarding to know that the desktops that are allocated at each of the centres will be used to enhance the lives of these children who spend most of their day either at school or receiving treatment in hospital.”
Discovery Health and Hero Skills also helped to enhance the benefits of the desktops by installing them with a focused software package designed specifically for children with cancer. The desktops include electronic literacy and numeracy educational games as well as an Open Office Package, for the benefit of the school going children.
“Dell South Africa would like to thank all of its customers who have contributed to this gesture, as a percentage of every Rand spent by Dell customers goes towards the Dell South Africa Development Fund for efforts of this nature,” concludes Van Graan.
