Dell has been actively involved in transformation for the past 10 years,
with our activities aimed at ensuring a substantive impact on and
investment in the South African environment in which we operate.
The future sustainability of the South African economy largely rests
on the shoulders of entrepreneurs. In fact, the entrepreneurial spirit
of South Africans plays a crucial role in job creation, while meeting
business and consumers needs and improving the lives of fellow South
Africans. For these reasons, Dell identifies and supports viable small
business initiatives. We are committed to making these businesses more
economically active in South Africa. This has resulted in us exceeding our
required BB-BEE expenditure towards Enterprise Development (ED) over
the last three years and achieving full marks on our BEE scorecard – a
benchmark and achievement of which we are extremely proud. Dell ED
projects are aimed at ensuring sustainability and growth in these entities.
The success of the projects is evaluated by its impact on the environment
and people of SA – the key to job creation. Dell believes in longer-term
engagement and partnerships to secure success.
